We were thrilled that our Medical Contributor, Dr. Melinda Steele partnered with Authority Magazine to share lifestyle tips that support cognitive well-being.
Her passion for helping her patients live longer, happier, healthier lives is unparalleled and we couldn't be prouder!
Who knew that entrepreneurship - problem solving - trying and doing new things had such a positive impact on brain health? This excerpt from the Authority Magazine article stood out for us:
Science shows that people who use various areas of the brain, for example learning a second language, playing a musical instrument, or partake in continued education and other mentally rigorous activities, are less likely to experience cognitive decline.
After retirement, my father (a former airline pilot) and mother (a speech pathologist), decided to join my sister in starting a local tea company called Rise Yaupon. None of them had a background in growing, harvesting, or producing their own tea, but they embraced the challenge and figured it out. Now they have wonderful tasting blends (with health-promoting ingredients that I thoroughly research!). Plus, they’ve created a community committed to supporting and uplifting one another. The mental stimulation, sense of purpose, and social connection all contribute to protecting the brain health for everyone involved!

We especially are partial to her Oatmeal video and think that a cup of Yaupon Tea would make a great compliment for breakfast on the go! (but we're definitely biased)
